When guests arrive here for the first-time, they are bowled over by the chateau-style building right in the heart of Paris. Built in 1892 on the city’s first airfield for hot air balloons, the mansion was used to host the most talented French students by Thiers Foundation for nearly a century. After a complete makeover at the hands of Bambi Sloan, the unique Paris hotel sports an eclectic décor in which panther-print velvet armchairs and Napoleon III canapé share space with reworked chairs from Parisian flea market.
Sloan stamp of extravagance is evident all over the hotel, uplifting the mood of occupants with décor tinged with humor and joie de vivre. The history of the original mansion is not completely lost in this transformation; wallpapers display hot air balloons that used to be part of the chateau’s history. The lights flanking the path to the hotel spa are shaped like balloons and balloon-like arbors dot its landscaped garden.
Saint James Hotel Paris boasts of 48 sprawling rooms and suites offering lovely views of the garden or fountain. With diverse shades of wall papers and designer furniture, each guestroom is made unique. Pavilions are two free-standing houses on three levels offering 70sqm of luxurious space. The Love Pavilion is just perfect for romantic getaways, with a bedroom, lounge and a private spa for two featuring double tub, steam room and two massage tables. The Belles-Feuilles Pavilion is for families with two children. It has a bedroom with private bath for parents, sofa-bed for kids, main lounge and kitchenette. It also has a gaming lounge with screen, projector, surround system, DVD library and games console.
Former private dining room of the Thiers Foundation, the Restaurant serves the gourmet cuisine created by Chef Cyrille Robert. Chic yet cozy, the Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. The grand library-bar displays 120,000 books along its wood-paneled walls and stands testimony to the fact that it used to be the library of Thiers Foundation. Magnificent and elegant, the library serves as a perfect setting to relax with the drink of your choice. In addition to the Restaurant, the hotel presents an intimate dining venue at its 300sqm terrace. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch and private events, the Terrace lets diners enjoy the hotel’s private garden with its greenhouse and air-balloons.
The French brand Gemology opened its first hotel spa at Saint James Hotel Paris. Offering treatment rooms as well as two large steam rooms, Spa Gemology extends exceptional treatments that derive benefit from the oligo-elements of gems. Among the treatments available are facials, body treatments and massages, including the unique Saint James Gemology massage, the first fully mineral massage.
